Top 10%

I like the current top 10% list, to be honest, it still seems to be a good place to look for good videos.

But I definitely would like a separate 'top new videos' list, which would definitely give a good current idea of 'what's hot'.

I mean hey, if you can sort the list by tech scores and categories, why not just add a listing which would cut off videos that are <x>days/months old or something?

For the same reason why all kinds of stuff we want to do on the site can't be done There isn't anyone with any time to do it!

So please: If someone wants to program it, then go right ahead. Be my guest. We need active programmers on the site more than ever. Most of the pages on the site were written by phade himself and we've been struggling to fill that gap.

I like the Top 40 idea. We could have Casey Kasem host it every weekend.

Considering the ways they've changed the ranking with that list, I can see that they're hoping to make it filled with immovable vids. But I'll always consider the 'Top Favorites' list as the permanent list on the org.

It has a limit of videos, takes a heck of a lot of fans to get on the list, and almost never changes. Plus, it's a lot easier to mark a great vid as your favorite on that list, than it is to leave a review for it. And the idea of an all-time list is to find the videos the most people like. The top Favorites list is more accurate than the 10% when it comes down to popularity. You can pimp and trade for reviews (the more reviews you have, the higher your top 10 score is), but getting listed on as a top Favorite usually entitles having someone actually like the video.
