Let me edit my own posts.

Post by iranai » Thu Sep 16, 2004 9:20 am

The advantages of this far outweigh possible abuse to the system.

This is helpfull for

A: spelling errors ( for those of use who like to push the post button before the spellcheck button )

B: post specific information ( for example, fixing broken links without reposting, editing incorect or mistaken information. )

C: thread specific information ( current events, updates, providing a single place for peple to look in the 'opinions exchange' for progress reports. )

the -only- reason not to allow this is the 'lets say something mean an nasty then change my post and act like a little angel' game... that I seriously hope most people have outgrown by now >_>

Use the preview button.

B and C would be nice, but follow-on posts accomplish the same thing. In the case of B, it's not so clean, but it works.

We would all like to think so.

Unfortunately, in the Internet environment, the only valid sociological assumption you can make is that everyone is an idiot with a severe self-image problem. The rules follow from that.

You know, that "Rejected/beaten-to-death suggestions sticky" idea is looking more and more attractive every day.

Personally, though, I'm still for the idea of being able to append to posts.

Damn it, AD, just learn to program, devote yourself to this online community, forego any career or education, and become a slave to a faceless, unappreciative psuedo-society.

Is it really that much to ask for? :?
