When entering a video...contests?

when you're entering a new video and you get to the contests part..if you pick certain ones will your video automaically be entered into the contest?

That section is so you can list the contests that you are sending the video out to. This lets people search for videos that may have shown in a certain contest. You still need to contact the contest coordinator and send in your contest (unless it's an online contest in which you just give them a link to a downloadable version of the video). Regardless, the contest section in the vid description is just for recordkeeping - it lets you mark where the video participated. You can lie and mark everything on there, but it doesn't mean your video was actually in any of those contests - unless you sent it in. Keep that in mind if you go to search for a video based on 'participation' - just because a video is marked as having participated in a contest, that doesn't mean it was actually in that contest. It just means someone liked the name and put a check by it. >.>
