When I try to download certain videos, sometimes I'm getting only audio. And I know that its not a problem with the video itself because friends have been able to download some of them. Is there something that causes this?
Please help! I have to have these videos!

You probably don't have the codec you need to watch the video. Go download Divx. www.divx.com

Actually it *is* the video - it plays for some people because they have the proper codec/programs to view the file. It's probably an xvid amv (avi formt) or divx.
Go to http://www.doom9.org and into the 'Downloads' section - pick up the 'Gordian Knot Codec Pack' and install that. Then you can play the files in Windows Media Player. If that doesn't work, let me know - it could be mpeg2 (though in that case it would probably crash your comp and not let you play audio *or* video).

A pack like the one Ari listed (though I use ffdshow), the XviD codec, and the most recent WMP (9.0) have allowed me to play any video. So if you're sure to have those 3 things, you should be able to play any video.
