Okay, skim through the forum - you'll find the 'Rules' in the first section, a 'how to make amvs' sticky thread in 'General Anime,' a list of software to use for making vids in the 'Software Help' section, and descriptions on what to do in each section of the forum. This question should have gone in the 'Site Help' section, for instance.

If you're interested in getting vids, the on the 'member main' page click the 'search vids' link and do a super search. New members have to wait 2 weeks before they can get locally hosted vids (green 'local' links), but you can download the direct and indirect if you want to wait (donating will bypass the waiting period, otherwis, just sit it out). If you make amvs that fit the site rules (anime footage, no sexual nudity, no hentai, no gratuitous graphic violence), then you can upload a copy to the org - make sure it's under 100mbs. For help on uploading, try the 'Site Help' section - or use the search button at the top of the page - there are a number of threads that should tell you exactly what steps to follow.

If you leave reviews on a vid, you can view them in the 'all opinions,' if you make vids then you read your reviews by going to 'edit my videos' and clicking the number - vids are ranked according to reviews to form the 'top 10% videos' list on the right side of the member main page - that's a good place to start looking if you're new to amvs. You also have the star scale - you have to give a star to each local vid you download - after 10 you won't be able to download more until you set the star rankings. You can view the stars of your own vids on the 'edit my videos' page - otherwise you can see rankings of the amvs on the site according to star score - next to the 'top 10' is the 'top star scale' - another good place to start if you're new to amvs.

There are a number of other sections on the main page that you'll want to look through - particularly the 'Guides' if you plan to make amvs. Just look around and try not to post a question until you first look for it - people tend to get a little impatient around here. ^.~

You can go download my videos then give them all 10's in an op. I doubt it'd help you figure out the site but OTOH we won't know till you try, will we?

Alternatively you could follow Arigatomyna's suggestions but why bother, my suggestion would be a lot more satisfying. At least for me it would be....

Another tip, Spell_caster -
We now have an extra button at the bottom of our posts that will take you to each person's amv profile page. If you want to check a poster's vid or profile, just click the 'profile' button with the musical note. And if you're curious about reviews, there is also a guide on writing them in the 'Guides' section on the member main page. ^.~

Your helpfulness is sickening sometimes, Ari. In a good way. :P
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Eh, maybe. But when I was new I didn't feel comfortable asking questions (and still don't). Now that I know the answers, I'm going to help anyone I can. It's not a good feeling to know there are hundreds of people who could easily take a minute to answer you, but won't. :?
