Ah, but there's no need to search for that one - Dark Kamui has the best vid for that combination. ;p

Really, I think the idea of more options for the 'super search' has also been brough up - but it's waiting till the third section is set up (the option that has been down for over a year...I'm not sure what that search option is...) But yes, search by opinion/rating for the super search would be good, but not as accurate as using an anime filter in the top list - then you won't have the first 30 vids be ones with only one 'all 10s' opinion inflating the score. :?

Ooh! And while we're at it, we can pump the rating systems into a neural network, so that we can use people's past preferences to determine what other videos they'll want to see.

Mindware? :P
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.

I thought Phade already had something like that in mind where it took what videos you liked (via star scale) and recommended videos.

Perhaps you were implying that and just being sarcastic *shrug*.

He actually has a section where the site recommends videos based on which videos you've rated and what you've liked? I don't remember seeing it, but I don't pay too much attention.

No, no. It's something he wants to implement as sort of a "reward" for accurately rating videos. If you inaccurately rate (like some people who give all 2's), you won't get the incentive of accurate recommendations to potentially good (to you) videos.

I thought I said "had in mind?" Maybe I didn't, but either way yeah it's on his "to do" list.

After going back there and checking your post, you did include in mind. Still, depending on how it's implemented, it could require quite a bit of processor power, and not really be worth it.

Very true. I'm not sure what sort of algorithm Phade has in mind to accomplish this, but regardless for over 100,000 members and calculating for probably close to 30,000 people (I imagine only 30,000 or so have downloaded a video via local links. Might be a lot lower)...yeah wow!

At the same time, he did purchase a new dual Opteron, so maybe it's for the database and will supply the necessar power :).

It is some pretty cool stuff, but I doubt that it'll be all that useful. After all, people tend to rate videos merely on number of piano keys used.
