topic purge without deleting post
i think we should have a topic purge that doesnt delete the post count. it seems like it pisses a lot of people off. im not sure how it would get around to be done like that though. just a suggestion.

if you want a high post count that dosent get deleted, make usefull posts in forums that dont get pruned. if you feel you must spam WOT all the time, then dont complain when it all gets deleted.
it even says it in the forums discription

Wacko weird crazy off topic fun stuff goes here... (Two-day-old dead posts are auto-pruned.)

What would be really nice is if we could get threads pruned so the useless posts are cut out but the main section of the thread kept. Something like that would have salvaged the anime trivia thread - and half the threads in 'General Amv' are turning into spam (just look at the second/third pages). Much more of that and they'll be shipped off to WOT - cutting the spam out would keep the on-topic threads and just get rid of the useless crap. The same for a lot of the 'It's all about me' threads. You get people introducing themselves but by the second page people are just using the threads to chat with each other - nothing at all to do with the purpose of the introductory thread, just spammers latching onto it as a place to chat.
Cutting the spam out of on-topic threads could actually do some good, probably clear as much space as any WOT cleaning would. And you wouldn't have to see perfectly good discussions being thrown away because of a few repeating spammers.

that is true, but that takes man power. and here, the mods are out numberd buy the spammers, and just deleting/moving posts might cause controversy over weather a post was spam or not, in other words, a big mess. what would really be nice is if people would only post in the on topic threads when they have something worth saying, but asking that nowa days is like pulling teeth. =\
