I'm not sure about PS3 games at the moment, but Blu-ray (and HD-DVD) movies can be ripped and decrypted. Go to doom9.org and look around. Upcoming BD and HD-DVD movies may not be rippable due to upcoming updates/changes to AACS in April to presumably close the 'break'.
Anyone want to get the GitS 2: Innocence Blu-ray and make the first AMV from Blu-ray or HD-DVD on glorious 1080p? Or Brave Story (AoD review here), or Praject PAPO, or Air Blu-ray box set? C'mon, don't you want to be a pioneer?

It's not like Sony owns exclusive rights to all HD content. It could very well be Disney/Buena Vista/Bandai Visual/Production I.G/Masamune Shirow (GitS2), Warner Japan/Gonzo (Brave Story, PAPO), or Pony Canyon/Kyoto Animation/Visual Art's/Key (Air).Daniel_BMS wrote:I hope Sony doesn't go on a mad dog rampage and destroy this site after somebody makes an HD AMV.
Or are you saying since Sony is the primary backer of Blu-ray, they'd shut the ORG down for using BDs as source? Toshiba (who backs HD-DVD and is one of the primary developers of the DVD format along with Sony and Philips) and owns Toshiba Entertainment and owns part of Toshiba EMI who have both produced or released anime, has the same stake here as Sony. Hell, nearly every large company today has some involvement in the movie or music industries.
Or are you saying more pixels = more copyright infringement?

Let's keep the paranoia in check.
