I tried following the guides in this thread, but haven't had any luck with any of them. Would anyone know how to get the movie files from Shadow Hearts From the New World? The files on the disc are all .pkb, .cpx, .tbl or .irx and there's about 40 fmv's playable in the game.
Here's a screenshot of the 2 folders

well before you give up, try this simple to use application first. (You should be able to unzip it with winrar or winzip.)

Drag the "LSD.PKB" onto your computer and then drag the file into the application. Maybe you'll get lucky and the application will rip the mpeg2 streams for you.
But if doesn't work out, then you'll have to learn the basics of how to use a hex editor.
Once you can do that, here's what you have to do.
Take that "OPENING.PKB" file and drag it into the hex editor. Make note of the header in the "OPENING.PKB" file.
Use that header to locate and extract the fmv's in the "LSD.PKB" file using the hex editor. I've extracted the fmv's from this game using this method. I haven't tried the first one though.

I ended up getting this: http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/2130 ... psszq8.jpg
And the hex editor confused the heck out of me.. is there a guide on how to use/extract/recommendations for any specific one?

since typing up a long detailed tutorial on how to do this would prove to be unhealthy for my fingers at the moment, I'm going to take the lazy way out and simply link to a couple of old topics.
Read this to learn how to use the basics of a hex editor:

Then read this thread (or rather the posts I made in this thread) to learn more on how to extract fmv's from SH3. Don't bother looking for the pics I posted in that thread. None of the links work.

If you honestly end up needing a much more thorough explanation, then I'll provide one for you when I have some time.

The links you provided no longer work...but yeah, a nice long explanation whenever you have the time will be great. I learned how to extract audio thanks to you but this seems like something completely different.Shadow hearts 2 pic

I would've uploaded them to photobucket, but they seem to be down at the moment, so you'll just have to download each image yourself. Sorry for the inconvenience.

anyways. I highly suggest seeing how far you can get w/ the information in those 2 threads first because it *could* be awhile before I get to making a detailed tutorial for that game. Despite the fact that you won't have any pics to go by, all the information you need is technically already there. It's just not outlined in a nice orderly format...yet.sayde wrote:Don't bother looking for the pics I posted in that thread. None of the links work.
