American Escaflowne Movie DVD Problem
I've run into a problem while trying to rip from the American release of the Escaflowne Movie DVD. When I place it in, it reads as a blank disc, and Smartripper does not detect it when it starts up.
My gut reaction is that it's copy protected, but could it also be my lack of an ASPI layer? (I can use Smartripper without an ASPI layer for some reason). If it's a form of copy protection, any ideas on how to circumvent it?
Thanks.

Can you rip other DVDs?
Does the DVD play in a DVD player?
Aspi can be obtained here:

Maybe it is a problem with the way it's reading it...
:\
hmmm not sure

Chaos Angel: I don't have the Esca movie DVD, but your problem sounds *exactly* like what I run into every so often.
My DVD-ROM doesn't always recognize every DVD I put in it (current list includes the "Street Fighter Alpha" OVA from Manga, the "Drive-Thru Records Vol. 1" DVD, and a few other titles).
Best option I can give you is to rip it on someone else's computer that WILL read it, network your compy and theirs, and transfer the VOBs back over to yourself.

Hmmm... first, I'd have to learn how to network two computers...VegettoEX wrote:Chaos Angel: I don't have the Esca movie DVD, but your problem sounds *exactly* like what I run into every so often.

It may work, but I'll have to fiddle with it. Thanks!
