Need a capture card (UK)

Post by Melanchthon » Sun Jul 10, 2005 7:07 pm

I want to make a VGMV using a PS2 game with non-FMV cutscenes, so DVD rips are out of the question (cutscenes are always the same regardless of character's skin, so I guess they're on there somewhere, but... no. Just... no). newegg.com don't deliver to the UK, so I'm SOL there too.

Hardware: I'm using a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 laptop, which doesn't have an S-Video port.
Software (if it matters): Magix Movie Edit silver (free, cut-down version of the program).

And finally, a general question: what about the connections at the TV/ PS2 end? Some of the TVs in my house are really old...

What you could do is check on Ebay or buy from store. Or if you REALLY want one from Newegg...you would probably have to know someone here in the US. You could ask them to buy it for you and ship it to you themselves. Try looking on www.pricewatch.com, some of those companies sell internationally.

Laptop + capture card?

I dunno if that's such a good idea...
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.

Best places are probably www.cclcomputers.co.uk or Ebuyer, I think there is a patch box from DV to component sources from places like canopus, but thats only if you want to break the bank(and the National debt)
God bless you all.
