How much do you thikn a CD (re)writer cost at first? Or even a video recoderd. Believe me once that FSD-disc thingie comes along DVD will be dirt cheap... DVD is still a market which hasn't hit it's peak yet, competitioners will have to outbid each others for sales, beleive me it'll drop.
