Help With Compression, Not sure If I'm Doing it right,

Post by The Kiki » Mon Apr 23, 2007 2:07 pm

Hello,
My Name Is Kikirukikyo, Or Kiki for short, I am posting here because I am using a Program I'm sure alot of people here are farmiliar with. Its called Adobe Premeire Pro 2.0, and yes I am falling in love with it I must tsya. But I am also having a probblem. When i am done with it, and I save the finished Product, If i want it good quallity, I save it as a DV AVI, which then my problem is the file is to big, We're talking about 768 mb for a 3 to 4 minute video. Soo I found a program called WinAvi, thinking that maybe it would compress the Avi file if i re-saveed it as an Avi in adiffrent program. And it does compress it, But WAY to much. Now i have blurry and un neat footage.
How do I get nice clear clean footage like the other Videos i see on a-m-v.org? I ahve everthing down, accpet the conpressing part,

You export the video uncompressed (I think it's uncompressed for Premiere, anyway), and then use VirtualDubMod to compress it. Read about how to do all this neat shiz here, and for good measure you should look into reading the rest of the guide too, here.

alright...nitpicky part of me has to say that you wanted to use "except" instead of "accept"

now that we're past that take a look at this to make sure that you're not loosing any quality on export.
then read this
it's not specifically for pro 2.0 ...but it should be close enough.

if you want to spend a little more time and effort, .mp4 files encoded with x.264 are quickly becoming the choice among the regulars for high quality, high resolution and low filesize. (though not everybody can play x.264 encoded files, so an xvid version is also commonly offered) this thread goes over some of the details about encoding with x.264
meGUI can be used for encoding video with some h.264 implimentation, audio to AAC and mux the two together (I'd suggest this if you're not comforatble with using command line input programs)
