Which video would you go with for a contest?

Post by Gene Starwind 21122 » Tue Dec 10, 2002 6:28 pm

The first video that I have goes excellent with the music and great timing, but the only problem is some of the shows were recorded off t.v. and the quality is a little off. Some people say the video quality doesn't really matter if the video is that good.

The second video has great quality and done in all dvd. Plus it has good lipsync. Plus this video matches the scenes well too. The second video is a meloy dramatic video. Whereas the first one is an action dramatic video. So what would you do knowing these type of facts. :?:
No matter what, stay calm, stay cool and live life to the fullest.
Plus as Gene would say always go big in life.

The amount of good drama videos pales in comparison to the entire range of action videos, from awful to spectacular.

Go with the better-looking drama one. Any monkey can make an action video, but it takes style and skill to make a good drama AMV.

Go with the drama. Regardless what you have been told quality can really hurt an AMV if it is poor. Especially if that first video poseses clips from TV involving little network logos.

Actually I would say the opposite, if your goal is to win the contest (which I assume it is since why else would you be asking).

This year at AX approximately 2/3 of the entries were drama. Currently contests are filtering through a glut of drama videos, from what I heard (although AWA may be different). Right now the best targets for awards are Comedy and Action.

Course I'm making a drama video, so I'm one to talk. :P

If you are entering your video just for people to watch, then I'd say to go for the one that is most entertaining. After all, people don't wanna sit through something that just drags on... If you are entering to try and win something though, well then I'd just say enter the one that you feel is the best :)
