Hosting an MPEG and an AVI of the same vid: how is it done?

Post by A.H. » Sun Apr 25, 2004 11:12 am

My DivX distribution AMV is up and running. Now there was a problem with the vid when I tried playing it on Windows Media Player: it froze up for a few seconds around 2:13. This didn't happen on DivX player, so I just decided to forewarn everyone that if it had the same problem on their WMPs, use a different player instead. But my friend just downloaded it and told me that it did the same thing even on his DivX player. See for yourself.

Fortunately, a made a seperate MPEG encode of the video. The only difference is that the end bumper is missing, and I know for sure that it won't freeze up and desync. So I need to know how to upload that vid along with the AVI on the same page, since I've seen 2 or 3 versions of the same vid on a video info page before.

You'll have to find your own hosting for the second copy of the video, as the site rules don't allow more than one copy of a video to be hosted on the Donut.

Once you've found someplace online to put your video, you can edit the video information and add a link to it.

Played back fine for me. Anyways you can only have one version of the video on local download. Any other versions have to be hosted offsite by the creator, which requires money. (For a good, reliable host at least.)

And what pray tell is the usual price for a 100 MB website that can host videos?
