80's Anime + 80's Music = KOR Goodness.

At long, long last, my first AMV. Read the comments if you need additional info. Or scroll down and skip to the goods. Link below, or click on the banner in my sig.

Without further ado, here are the salient points:

Title: And So It Begins... (Swept Away)
Anime: Kimagure Orange Road TV
Song: Swept Away (New Remix) by Christopher Cross
Link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=111272

An updated version of the video I sent to Kawaii-Kon. Best Nostalgia Vid. Wow.

Glorious.

Gentle, sweet, flowing, emotional... Never seen the anime, never heard the song, but I doubt this is going to leave my hard drive in a long long while.

More like this, please!

Awesome, really really great work. Very touching and nostalgic.
(The lip flapping could've been avoided at some parts though, it's not really something bad - it's just distracting from the flow sometimes)

Wow, thanks.

I thought about removing the lip-flaps, but I felt that the scenes would look wierd if the characters didn't move their lips, especially in the gondola since Madoka is moving around. I did slow down Kyosuke's lip-flapping scene in the beginning on purpose to make it less distracting, but I wanted some movement in that scene so I left it in.

Very beautiful video! The flow was just about flawless, and your scene selection was wonderful!

I feel all fuzzy and warm now. :)

very enjoyable, nice and chill.

I did notice, however, a black flash @1:26, not sure if that was in the anime, or if you made a mistake on the timeline, but none the less, the vid was pretty solid.

Thanks.

I tried searching for any AMVs with Christopher Cross songs a long while ago, but came up empty. When this video was still in betas, I figured I'd have the only CC AMV on the org when it was released. Then, you released SoulSeek. Ah, well.

I did want to do an AMV to "Sailing" also, but with SoulSeek being out, the urgency of that project has subsided. I didn't have a concept for my "Sailing" project anyways. That is, until I watched your video. Somehow it made me realize I was thinking too narrowly for a video concept. One day, I'll make my second Chris Cross video. One day...

The "black flash" is part of the original scene. If you frame-by-frame it, you'll see that the animators isolated the ember spark of the fire for that frame.

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
