Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

An "Advertisement" Video for a-m-v.org

Post by remsleep » Sun Aug 07, 2005 11:09 pm

Short story:

Wanted to introduce some non-computer people into AMVs, so I was putting a bunch on DVD for them... Decided I should take the time and do a decent job (Most encodes are done, and most menus, and now the "first-play" video is done, but I still have to make the credits for the vids on the disc...)

Anyway, I should be done by September, and I'll put the image on Bittorrent for anyone who might want an a-m-v.org compilation DVD (for your own non-computer friends, should you have any)

This video is just the "first-play" video for the DVD with some additional just-have-fun-with-it treatments that make it stand better as its own video worthy of uploading ;-)

Anyway, that's what this thing is in case you are wondering "Huh?" May be of particular interest to users of After Effects ;-)

Nice use of effects. In the beginning I thought it was going to be the first BMV (Banner Music Video). :P

Thanx for watching! I'm glad to have some feedback since this one is a little out of the ordinary, and I wasn't sure how people would react...

Janzki- You're right -- I was planning to say "numerous website banners" in the entry, but the actual interface for uploading caught me off-guard, and I forgot to mention banners.... Also, while I was in the forum just now, I checked out your She-Man -- it's hilarious! Someday I too hope to have good artistic ideas, but in the meantime, all I know how to do is make technical videos ;-)

It is a bit out of ordinary, but that's a good thing, as long as it works. Great video.
