Yes, there's a story behind the name. No, I'm not telling.
Anyway, hi. WUNETTI's currently a one-man studio, consiting only of me, and my single goal is to make quality AMVs. I tend to favor romance and comedy, both in my anime and in my vids, though I do have some other stuff planned that is distinctly more drama.
For me, much of the purpose of creating AMVs is to take others' creative efforts and make something new with them - art not only imitating art but becoming a different kind of art. Then again, considering some of my vids, I don't know if "art" is really what I'm aspiring toward. but as long as I'm entertaining, it's all good.
Over time, mostly over 2006 and with the creation of the Utena Symphony as well as the Human Surreality Experiment, I've realized that I have another, greater purpose in some of the AMVs I've made. Sometimes, there are things in anime, whether moments or themes or characterizations or any number of other little bits, that are overlooked for one reason or another. In some of my vids, the purpose is to find those smaller parts and bring them to the forefront, to really show something about the anime that people don't usually see, through use of a song that helps bring it forth. It's an abstract and often difficult goal, but it's something I feel is worth striving for.
Of course, not all of my AMVs are made with that in mind. Some are just for fun. ke ke ke.
My own personal criterion for star ratings:
5 = I love this vid, I will keep it, and I will tell all my friends to go download it.
4 = I like this vid, it's a keeper.
3 = Decent to good, I watched it all the way through, but it's not a keeper.
2 = Didn't bother watching it all the way through, wasn't good enough.
1 = So bad I watched the whole thing just to see how bad it could possibly get.
so far, I haven't given any ratings of 1, but you never know. heh!
