A little side note on masking, when your character is MOVING, mask will not 'sense his movements' and flow with the character, instead it will just take the form of the first frame you masked out. To mask a MOVING CHARACTER using the masking tool you must do it, frame, by frame. To do this, open your pan/crop option click on mask and you see the diamonds? Those are 'keyframes'?
Keyframes mark a 'keypoint of change' in the actual animation/footage, so each keyframe you set up will have a different change in the same clip. Be reminded, the time window for clip effects is only 4 seconds. This takes some getting used too, but if you're familuar with flash it isn't as difficult to understand or use.
