Once everybody stopped talking about bullshit that wasn't important 3 years ago it was very entertaning. I agree with many of Ermac's points in the sense that the way the community is heading isn't sustainable. Theres only so much you can do on the technical side of things before it becomes ridiculous.

What I think is funny is that while everyone is making effects videos, no one will care about them in 6 months. The only reason to watch an effects video is because its the latest and greatest. No one watches half assed visuals when something else can do it better. No one will care about Shounen Bushidou once the next big thing comes out.

It feels like the AMV community is in the 80s right now and everyones snorting cocaine.

"BIGGER! BETTER! MORE MORE MORE!"

Whats comforting is that the big come down is inevitable and things will be back in balance again. Or I could be completely wrong. All in all it was a great show

Don't forget the amy community is also in the ninja craze (naruto) of the 80's

I plan to release an upbeat video with quite a bit of special effects sometime this summer.
Will people remember it a year from now? Probably not.
But I'm having fun, and hopefully people will enjoy it too.

The one thing that will keep me watching the videos I watch today is indeed the concept coupled with the music and anime used. I am a sentimental type so if a certain video "touches" me then I'm pretty damn sure I'll be watching it again in the years to come. Two specific videos come to mind, HurQLez03's Evangelion Faithless and SnhKnives' A Typical Love Story. Those two AMVs got me into watching the series (which I both enjoy immensely) due to the stories each video conveyed.
