the way it fades to black, makes the dark in the video expand (?) first, before making it completely black. tried few methods (SV) but I couldn't achieve that
it isn't contrast, tried normal fading and fading through black, but it fades the whole screen.

Can't see the video because it's banned in my country, but maybe it's an expanding cookie cutter with very blurred borders?

Experiment with Chroma Keyer. Put the arrow on the blackest side, and then slowly increase the low threshold - works most times.??

that was contrast, rather you had to have 2 clips with the top clip on contrast and masked to the point where you only needed to fade. then change opacity of top clip to blend.
