The fact that my work PC is so bloated with shitty software that it takes more than 10 min to start up and idles with over a GB of memory usage without me actually running anything on it. I'd hate to actually have to do anything other than read email on this thing.

Is overclocking it out of the question?

A laptop that's sole use to me is to read emails? Are you high? It's network and disk lag. Single threaded start-up scans. The "solution" is to reboot only when necessary. Once a month or less.

Well, I did respond to that as soon as I woke up, so I guess you could say I was sort of disoriented

I simply misinterpreted your post. No need to start throwing around accusations.

Well, to be fair, overclocking isn't supposed to be used to fix an issue. The only real reason anyone should overclock is to get more performance out of a perfectly working computer, not fix an obviously not working correctly one.

I was always under the impression that overclocking could be used to speed up most computers, so thank you for explaining that for me.

Hmmm...

I do have an old 8gb drive laying around....wonder what the chances are that I could change out some resistors in front of the controller chip on the board? :ying:

Gotta worry about rotation speed, seek speed, and the fact that the arm was designed to not scratch the surface only at the speeds it was designed to operate at.

Of course, we must all know that the most annoying thing on the internet is Unwarranted Self Importance Syndrome.

This is, of course, my factual opinion, therefore cannot be argued one bit, because I say so. Yep, no questioning that point at all.

Letting an obvious fact slip by me when it was important to bring it up, leading to a situation getting dragged out even more than it should be. :|
Oh well, that much more time to work on my procedural backhand.
