(As long as I remember to rename each output file with a different name :P)

Just as a suggestion, maybe there can be an option to append certain encode settings to the end of the filename like "AMV_crf20.mp4" That way, output filenames could be generated automatically. But either way, I really dig the batch support right now. :D

I can't really see a way of making that work. How is it to know what settings to put there? Maybe you intend to change the crf on each encode, but maybe someone else will be keeping it the same, and changing the AQ settings? Theres really no way to know what the user wants unless they manually specify it, which pretty much just brings us back to changing the filename to however you want it to be :p

Well, I got the idea from the way Winamp can rip CD's
Winamp wrote:Specify the naming convention for ripped tracks:
<Artist> - <Album>\## - <Trackartist> - <Title>

So hypothetically, the output filename could be a field made up of a series of variables where the user specifies which variables they
want in their filename:

"<Title>.<Filetype>"

so if the user wanted VAQ/CRF/both in their filename, they would provide something like this:

"<Title>_<VAQ>.<Filetype>"
"<Title>_<CRF>.<Filetype>"
"<Title>_<CRF>_<VAQ>.<Filetype>"

ofc, there would have to be a list of acceptable variables to be used.
(Perhaps aided with the use of checkboxes)
But then people could input things like Anime, Artist, etc... which could even help standardize AMV naming convention.
Perhaps even add metadata so people don't have to track down what anime/artist is used in the AMV...

...IDK, it would be a non-essential feature, and I'm probably getting carried away... I just like musing with the idea :P

If your images are numbered sequentially, just open the first image with VirtualDub, and the rest should load automatically (a file-renaming utility might help).

Avisynth can actually load images in sequence based on a pattern, see ImageSource documentation (different to ImageReader.)

Beta 3 changes: (Feb 1, 2012)
- Now uses Qaac audio encoder. This is the highest quality AAC encoder, and should keep sync well. Required quicktime installed on your system. If quicktime is not installed, the libvoaac encoder will be used instead, but quality and sync may not be great.
- When cancelling an encode that is part of a batch, it will prompt you as to whether you want to cancel the entire batch.
- Outputs a log file after encoding (located in the same folder as the exe)
- Fixed a bug with the container selection
- Fixed a bug where a space wasn't added after one of the commandline parameters

I'm not expecting any more big changes, so I should be releasing an actual 2.0 version soon.
Please let me know if you find any unexpected behavior, or if you encounter files that don't encode properly.

Apparently no one tested it, because beta 3 was totally broken :p

But in any case, it all seems to be working fine from what I can tell, so I am (finally!), upgrading this from beta status to a full-fledged release.

I don't have anything to encode right now, but I'll give it a try when I do. :)

Yeah, so I encoded my latest amv with it, both 720p and 480p using batch mode.
Although I don't have Quicktime installed, but it seems okay with libvoaac.

As an FYI, Norton has a severe problem with 2.0. I've never seen Norton pounce on something and whisk it away to Quarantine so fast without even bothering to let me know what it was doing.

For a bit I thought the Zarx wasn't working correctly, but then it turned out that Norton had confiscated the master exe. file and that's why the program wouldn't load. If you restore the file from quarantine, everything works fine, but I've never had this issue with any of the other versions of Zarx264Gui. @_@
