If you liked the swift e-mail confirmation, you'll love this. I plan on having a "text to vote" system in place for the AMV contest. That means that the attendees will text their vote for their favorite videos, and the results will be calculated in seconds (kinda like American Idol, but even faster). I will then tweet each individual category result as I announce them during the contest.CodeZTM wrote:Now THAT is a swift confirmation.

But the people who don't have their cell phones with them or don't have cell phones capable of sending text messages will still be able to submit normal ballots, right?kireblue wrote:If you liked the swift e-mail confirmation, you'll love this. Re: Seishun-Con's 2011 AMV Contest (Deadline Tomorrow)
I personally feel that the average person will have their cell phone with them. I'd be pretty surprised if half the audience told me that they forgot their phone in their car. I also feel that most people either have text plans on their phone, or are able to send text messages at a pretty cheap rate (like 50 cents per message). Since each vote will enter you into a automatic raffle for prizes, I doubt that the people without text plans would choose not to enter. I know that I'm making a lot of assumptions about cell phone demographics, but I don't feel that any of them are unreasonable.Scintilla wrote:But the people who don't have their cell phones with them or don't have cell phones capable of sending text messages will still be able to submit normal ballots, right?kireblue wrote:If you liked the swift e-mail confirmation, you'll love this. Re: Seishun-Con's 2011 AMV Contest (Closed)
Attention everyone that has expressed interest in Seishun-Con's AMV contest. Due to the "end of the world", and to my greatest disappointment, Seishun has decided to cancel its AMV contest indefinitely. I wish you all the best of luck and hope that you survive the upcoming zombie apocalypse with all your organs intact. May Haruhi bless us in our greatest time of need.
In other news, obvious troll is obvious. Me and the other judges just finished judging the videos about less than 2 hours ago. Yeah, we seriously had to judge them till 1am. There were some really close calls (especially in the Action and Fun/ Upbeat category), but we finally narrowed our 65 submissions down to 5 per category. We also picked our favorite video to win the "Judges Award". Ironically, our favorite video didn't make it to the finals though. But to add a little suspense, we decided to not announce which video it is till the the day of the convention (June 3rd - June 5th). I'll also say that the "mature audience only" category didn't receive enough entries for us to justify having it, so it has been cut and probably wont be returning next year.
The list of main category finalist are as follows:
Action
Drama/ Serious
Fun/ Upbeat
Romance/ Sentimental
Comedy
Thank you to everyone that submitted a video and or expressed interest in Seishun-con's 1st annual AMV contest. And don't forget to check back in 2 weeks to find out the winner of each category and the "Judges" award.

Re: Seishun-Con's 2011 AMV Contest (List of Finalist)
Woo, Maka made it in! And I'm digging the rest of the finalist list as well.
I'm extremely interested in this Judge's award...I've never heard of a vid winning an award without being in the contest itself. Will whichever this vid is be shown at the con still?
