I don't agree with anything you said and to top it off, most of it sounds like complaining again.

Mister Hatt wrote:If the guide is meant to be basic, 70% of it is not required knowledge and in no way helps anyone

It helps the person who wants a simplified process broken down to creating AMVs from ripping to uploading the finished product. You're just saying that because you already know as much as you do and don't care about amvs.

Mister Hatt wrote:The reason I told you not to use MT is because MT in avisynth isn't true multithreading anyway. It splits your picture into regions and then filters them separately. This has all kinds of problems related to the seams though.

First of all, I read all the info about MT and Setmtmode on avisynth.org and checked the support page. I knew already about MT splitting it into regions but setmtmode processes full frames which is the wiser choice because of this reason, which is also why I'm using it...

Mister Hatt wrote:Nobody that actually produces an amv actually cares about video quality, so why they use avisynth at all is a complete mystery to me.

This sentence is a giant contradiction, if they didn't care... They wouldn't even bother trying to use avisynth yet alone seeking help in the first place when it comes to sources and their scripts.

Mister Hatt wrote:Regular people should not be using it. If they cannot at least read the documentation, they don't deserve help in the first place.

Some people learn best through experimentation, some through studying, others through advisors and some just seek help for simple problems that could also be answered within a simple response. I would wajor a good majority of ppl that started editing AMVs read nothing about premiere or vegas or any other programs documentation but are very adept in their usage regardless. Someone who as completely read the documentation could run into the same errors and problems that someone who hasn't. All so, I doubt you read the documentation for how your car works but when you run into problems, you would rather your mechanic help you than call you a fucking moron for not knowing any better and reading the documentation.

Mister Hatt wrote:...If people come here for help, they should either read the stickies before asking a question that has already been answered, or they should at least give the thread a useful title and paste their script. They should stop using old shit and update to the latest stable versions of everything. This alone would probably solve a good half of the problems outright...

I think we've found the problem. I see no stickies in the Avisynth section. Maybe we should have a thread called "Don't use VirtualDubMod"; in the first post, it would list many of the reasons why nobody should be using it anymore. Not that a ton of stickies will solve anything, but if we have a few strategically planned, then it might help a bit. In any case, the people who actually care would read the stickies and we wouldn't have to feel guilty about yelling at the people who post stupid questions. I don't have any real experience with VDubMod, so I can't be the one to make that thread. Image

I was thinking more along the lines of "Strange Case of Dr. Mirko and Mister Hatt."
