However we are seeing a convergence of potential issues, including but not limited to out of date splitters as ngsilver mentions, that may result in some degree of audio desynchronization. I'll put together a more comprehensive explanation later when I get time but for now please understand that the mpeg2 versions of the files are the ones that we'll use for the convention. To my knowledge there are no discernible issues with those copies, but they are obviously larger and take longer to download. The mp4 versions were created and provided as a smaller download courtesy but if there are issues it's just not worth it.

If you want to stick with the mp4 downloads, please grab a couple first and see if you have any issues before fully committing to the download. You're obviously going to be familiar with the quirks of your own video(s), but I can personally recommend #2 and #5 as they each have distinctive timing elements (lip sync and beat) to compare against.

If you see any issues with your own video(s), please verify against the mpeg2 version and contact me with the details.
I decided to grab the mpeg2 mostly since, as you mentioned, they're the ones you'll use for the contest, it'll be easier to add them to the amv archive we have for acen once the contest is done and over.

What the fuck. I'm going through them 10 at a time so I don't get burned out and start dismissing the later vids just because I'm tired of watching. I'll update as I remember to do so.

- Nice of the contest to start with panty shots. Except for the dickgirl. Why would anyone put Kionon in their vid? 3/5

- Decent joke, it would have made a good AMV Hell segment. 3:48 of it got really old. *WAY* too much lipsync. 2/5

- Too slow paced for the song really. Not bad, not good. I'll forget I saw it by the end of the week. Some quality issues also, but acceptable. 3/5

- Nice simplistic feel to it, despite being very complex. Wasn't long enough to get old either. Not much meaning, basically is just 'LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!' and a visual pun of sorts, but still 4/5. Have to grab the final when *CENSORED* releases it.

- Nice opening. Builds a good mood. It's too bad it ended instead of doing the rest of the video... 3/5

- Oh look, Spoil. Again. 1/5

- What a shitty song. Scenes mostly too static. Has some editing tricks I kinda liked though. Attempt at story might have worked better if I knew the source. 3/5

- On the plus side, it was quick. On the minus side, everything else. 2/5

- I could see a decent video being made to this song. This wasn't it. 3/5

- Given the source, I suppose this overly heavy horror type vid was inevitable. I like the source too much to like this misrepresentation of it, but the editing was decent. 4/5

- Didn't I already see this joke? This is shorter, but still too long. 2/5

- Oddly, this did a better job of putting me to sleep than the two Sleeping With Hinako vids. 2/5

- Musical huh, probably Kit. No, wait, it sucks. Although that actually doesn't mean it isn't kit... 3/5

- Obvious pairing, but it is amusing and well done. 4/5

- Another should have been an AMV hell segment. Kinda amusing 3/5

- Well, at least now I know that I never want to watch the anime... 2/5

- Oh look, a border effect. Wonder how long that will last? Three minutes and 14 seconds huh? Jerkass. 2/5

- Kinda like a train ride. At first you're kinda excited because it seems like it's going somewhere. Then you see where it's going and get depressed. 2/5

- I wonder if they intentionally followed several agnsty drama vids with one that had 'you're so dramatic' for lyrics or if that's just a coincidence? 3/5

- Works better as an upbeat vid than a comedy, but pretty decent. 4/5

- Other than the intro and outro sepia crap, it worked rather well. 4/5

- Did I just watch a jewish rabbit kicking a bunch of arab camel ass? Seriously? 3/5

- Well that was cheerful. 3/5

- For some reason, I started combining the last few videos in my head and ended up with nazi jewish rabbits bombing tokyo. Which actually would have been better than any of the last 3 vids. Still, 4/5

- If this is who I think it is, I suppose I should at least be impressed he didn't ragequit the video halfway through. 2/5

- A song about being stopped at a stop light combined with chase footage. Yeah... 2/5

- Did a decent job using the new footage and still working well. I didn't realize there was actually this much new footage in the movies even though I watched them both. 4/5

- Ahahahahahaha. 5/5 just because some poor viewer is out there going 'Ah fuck, my ears!'

- Either the editor is an idiot who did an totally inappropriate song for the source just because it had the word 'serious' in the lyrics, or the editor made a brilliant comedy matching and forgot to actually make it comedy. Either way, 2/5

- The video is a lot more amusing if you assume they're talking about cock. She knows it's out there, and it feels good. 3/5

- Basketball playing mecha that gets arrested and it is NOT painted black? How unusual of the Japanese to miss a chance for casual racism. 3/5

-It's been awhile since I saw Gunsmith Cats, so I can't tell if the opening was slapped on the timeline unedited or not... 2/5

- I don't even watch real live people beating each other up, why do I want to see cartoons doing it? 3/5

- Oh look, the same joke. Again. At least there was other stuff after that. I wish I had the ability to do that to women's faces. 3/5

- Words can not describe how awesome this is if you pretend that those 3 are org users. 4/5

- To paraphrase a QC I got once: The skinkai train is powered by the pumping of ten thousand arms beating a thousand dead horses. it is not too late to get on; nay, this train will never leave the station. 3/5

- Wait, did the just fill that girl with shuriken then slice up a bunch on ninjas? What the hell happened to the nice simple romance that was going on? 3/5

- There are not enough curse words in the world to describe my hatred of this video. Which was probably the point of it, so job well done? 1/5

- A vampire witha gun. I never understood that. He's a damned vampire. Vampires don't need guns. Well, at least he doesn't sparkle. 2/5

- This joke? AGAIN? MOTHERFUCKING COCKSUCKING UNORIGINAL BASTARD SON OF A BITCHES! 1/5

- I don't like the Beatles. I really hate Death Note. This vid had no chance of me liking at. At least it did not do the heavy goth emo shit though. 3/5

- As with most AMV hell like things, one or two good bits and a whole lot of crap. Alright, alright, I'll admit it. I was lying to make the editor feel good about their pathetic little life. There weren't one or two good bits. 2/5

- The concert thing felt like filler, but other than that it was actually pretty amusing. 4/5

- To paraphrase something: What this editor created is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in this rambling, incoherent mess did they get even close to anything that could be considered an entertaining video. Everyone in this contest is now dumber for having seen it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. 0/5

- Very accurate song. You know what was the most WTF? There was a girl. There was a monster with tentacles. And there was NO raping going on. What the fuck Japan? WHAT. THE. FUCK. 3/5

- Needed more Unit 731. Show some babies being vivisectioned without anesthesia. Freeze limbs to death to study the effects of gangrene and rotting. Tie pregnant women to stakes and test grenades, flame throwers, chemical weapons, etc. on them. If they're gonna make an anime that looks like WWII, they should at least be accurate about it. 3/5

- There is so much comedy potential in mocking the flat, two dimensional, characters on AMG or the juvenile fantasy lala land idea of romance it has or even the fact the entire show's idea was already done better in the 1960's when I Dream of Jeannie was airing. Instead, this video just rehashes those things and manages, if possible, to be even more sophomoric than the anime was. 2/5

- Professional wrestlers have made up storylines for their fights. They're childish, ignorant, and trite storylines; however, they have them. OTOH, there is this video which has no story at all and just has shit blowing up for no reason at all. When WWE tells better stories than you do, then perhaps you need to rethink your entire approach to editing... 3/5

- Did they just go down the list of cheesy stock transitions their editing program has? Crossfades and hard cuts, motherfucker, ever heard of them? 2/5

- The video is just as cheesy as the original source was. Which actually is not a bad thing. 3/5

- Not the sort of thing I like, but it actually had some very clever editing and scene selection hidden among the over the top violence. 3/5

- Dedicated to Hasteroth? 3/5

- "This was fantastic, but I don't ever plan on watching it again." Although more and more, I'm questioning the fantastic thing.

- Not one of the all time great comedies, but it amused me. By the way, I would never censor 'bitch'. 4/5

- Ya know, 'epic' and 'long' are not synonyms... 2/5

- I think I've gotten burnt out on the Perfect Blue vids over the years. They always show exactly the same scenes. This wouldn't be a bad video if it were 2004 or 2005. 3/5

- In a few, rare, cases the United States has practiced preventive detention. They should do so again for whoever edited this, he's a walking sexual assault case waiting to happen. They should probably do it to me too for laughing at the parts I laughed at. 4/5

- Proof that we either should have dropped more atomic bombs on japan to wipe them out entirely or none at all because the radiation clearly has affected them. 2/5

- I was expecting a chii parody. Instead I got a hard on. Fair trade. 3/5

- AWA Pro doesn't disqualify due to content. Every year some total scumfucking bastard submits something that shows Pro should. If this editor gets married, he deserves to have it fail spectacularly so he dies a lonely old bitter man who's sole joy in life is pestering teenage girls for titty pics, and failing to get any. 1/5

I'm available for judging since I didn't submit! Wait... can't find the torrent on tt =p

Probably a good thing since I still haven't finished single player SC2. Good luck to all those who submitted and may god have mercy upon your souls... godix is now open rating.

P.S. Thunderstone > Dominion
Didn't get a chance to see what Jingoro was showing for AMVs at Gencon (a pleasant surprise when I saw that in the program book) but I hope he wrapped that stupid AMV stuff up quick to get back to the gaming.

Word has reached me that the below Hinako video is far superior to those submitted to AWA. /discuss

Well the hentai vids at the end of course and avoid the last one if you can since it's just a longer video of one that existed just to shock.

Random is random. Blame Renamer, I used it to randomly serialize the contest while stripping out the studio names.

As for 28...uh, the editor pointed out that in my zeal to normalize the audio for all videos that one got a little...loud. I tried to ninja replace both copies with a more modest version but some of you may still have gotten the ear splitter versions. Sorry?

I'll eventually post op's on all of them, but #31 is my favorite hands down. #14 was also hilarious because I now know where James Cameron takes his director's notes.
