Site Status
Uploads are working. We reclaimed space by deleting old video files (e.g., ones that were replaced by a remaster). We still need to get new hardware; details are in Donations and a New Storage Server and Cleaning up the local download servers.
Downloads should be working fully.
The forum should be working; see the Site Downtime and Forum Upgrade thread.
Cron jobs are running again. RSS feeds, alert feeds, and the weekly top lists should be working again.
Also, there has been a report that adding direct links doesn't work (claims there is a 404 error). I haven't had the opportunity to investigate yet.
The site seems to be experiencing random very slow page loads. This might be related to the dedicated search DB being down, and that load instead being on the main database.

Re: Site Status
I went through the first set (out of ten) of deleted video files. Most of them I deleted for real; a few I restored because the remastered, etc. version was never uploaded. The restored ones are:
If one of these is yours, and you still want to upload a better version, you'll have to request the local file be deleted again.

In other words, uploads are back. Thanks dero.
Edit: oh, looks like you'd edited your first post to reflect this already.

Re: Site Status
After trying to uplaod my AMV several days ago which didn't work cause of the server, it worked now. But I got this message saying: You are now the proud owner of a screwy error message from .Org. That error message is: "Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received" Please report this in the forums.
Can you help me here?

Re: Site Status
Whenever you get that message while in the Confirm Video area, just try clicking on Confirm Video again and reenter the information. The message may still pop up, but keep trying, and it will eventually go through. I've had it happen before, but doing this did eventually work it out.
It's not a problem of space, though -- it's just a quirk that happens for some, but not for others. Let us know in the Moderator's Drop Box if it still gives you the error after a lot of retries, though.

Here is the next batch of restored videos (and yes, this means we have free disk space again!)

Out of curiosity, why did you bother restoring these two if nobody can download them anyway?derobert wrote:Here is the next batch of restored videos (and yes, this means we have free disk space again!)

Hey, we can hope that someday maybe copyright law will be fixed and we'll be able to remove that block. Yeah. Sure.
