Help With WMM!

Postby Nuggetz » Mon Oct 13, 2008 8:01 pm

Okay, I read the FAQ! But When I tried to import a Video i keept getting this error.

Code: Select all
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\AMV\dbz162-2.avi could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box.

So... I don't know why Im getting that error, But if there's anyone who can help me help please.

Btw, Im a noob at this stuff.

I'm just gonna jump ahead here based on the file name

(your non-flashing one...just for you Katie)
it is recommended that you make clips instead of re-encoding entire episodes (since lossless = large file)
JaddziaDax wrote:open the video file in virtualdub mod go to video->compression->Huffyuv or Lagarith

then go to file->save

use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room

vdubmod should be able to open your file after you install xvid, and then you just make clips (explained in the vdubmod picture in my first post) and save them using a lossless codec
if you need a crash course on vdubmod, look here

and just in case...
huffyuv (click the link that says DLL next to 1.3.1)
unzip it, right click the .inf file and select "install"

if you don't know which one is the .inf file, there's only 2 files named huffyuv. right click one and if you don't see "install" right click the other

yes, lossless files are hueg liek xbox (which is why you make clips instead of just making the entire episode lossless,) but they will work.

forgot to mention
huffyuv is a lossless codec
lagarith is another widely used lossless codec, but it doesn't play nice with WMM
