Postby ANBU_Itaichi1986 » Fri Jul 06, 2007 1:59 pm

Bare with me while I try to explain this. It was done in the Grindhouse trailer to give you an idea of what Im talking about. I want to do is have the video melting or burning from over use. Anyone have any idea what Im talking about?

Don't try to use Wax as a plugin - it doesn't work (least it never worked for me). Download Wax and use the program itself, it's like a mini-AE.

No. Just no.

I agree more with the fractal noise idea as posted by Metro, as long as you can get it to expand properly. You'll probably also want to play with warping the layer and adjusting the zoom to get that "film slamming" look.

I've actually done this effect twice that I know of in my work, but this is the better example:
[vidid=113772]
At about 0:24 - 0:25, I used what I believe was Cycore's Film Burn transition combined with a glow/shine to give it an ember look, and warping it with various filters to make it look as though it was being torn apart.
