Taking a sabbatical from Pokemon while I get back on track with school. Plants vs Zombies is a much less demanding timesink.

Not sure if you'd consider it playing or reading, but I'm currently playing/reading the Umineko no Naku Koro ni visual novels. I'm on the 2nd episode right now.

I bought it the day it came out and I'm still only at the 2nd temple. I have no motivation to play it yet.gote wrote:picking skyward sword back up and this time i'm gonna finish it!

Re: What are you playing?
Even though I liked Skyward Sword and beat it after a straight 12 days, I wouldn't consider it the absolute best like so many fans and reviewers have claimed it to be. Game does get better as you play it though. Some of the good highlights of it to me are all of the new weapons (Hook Beetle is my ultimate fave), G-man, and luved the seriously cute, "girl next door type", Zelda. I still label Link To The Past, Ocarina Of Time, and Twilight Princess better. Wind Waker and Majora's Mask are I say the same level as Skyward Sword even though WW had the most epic final battle next to OoT's & TP's, and MM's story was epic emotionally when you combine all the characters' plots with the main plot. Plus the motion controls for SS got on my frickin' nerves more than I had fun with it, hope Nintendo gives an option to play the next Zelda with a regular controller. SOOOOO much backtracking in SS too.
Imma import the European version of this game this weekend and hopefully it'll be on my doorstep once this month's fasting is done:

I can't wait for April for the American version since I already have a Wii that can play imports. I've been jonesin' for a top quality JRPG since the glorious Nier (even though it was an action-RPG) and this should deliver. I'll hit up FF13-2 afterwards but I'm not expecting much from it story-wise.

Heh, X for me. I'll be playing X-2 after this. I've beaten X numerous times (maybe... six?) with various challenges (NSGNS, TOC, YOC (plus a little cheating by using Wakka against sin the first time, because no holy), ROC, and one or two more I can't think of atm). This time is the first time I've done a regular run since I first played it in 2003 or something like that. Never beat X-2, but I intend to this time around.

Re: What are you playing?
Xenoblade Chronicles & Final Fantasy 13-2
Decided to play both games at once. Liking 13-2 so far. Even though the story so far is reminding me of a bad fanfiction of Chrono Trigger, this game has everything I wished 13 had dealing with having something to do besides going in a straight line to scenes/boss fights. The battle system is slightly better, diggin the Pokemon style helper monsters, and there's so much you can do in this game. OST is great too but so far I wouldn't say better than 13's, which I believe has the best OST of a FF game. Sarah and the new guy are getting too cozy LOL, I hope she dumps Snow for Noel but I highly doubt it. I can't help but see those two as a 40 year-old uncle going out with his 14 year-old niece. And where the freak is Sazh!!?? I hope he isn't just DLC related he was my favorite character in 13. Despite FF13-2 great qualities I'm liking Xenoblade A LOT more and it's so easy to get lost doing things outside of the main story, there's a lot of side quests and beautiful sceneries to explore. I'm gonna beat it before FF13-2 even though it took other players over 60 hours to beat Xeno. This is the perfect example of a memorable RPG and other developers need to take note. Now why I see why the reviews have been sucking it's **** so much.

Welcomez. This game is seriously epic and may just be my favorite JRPG in a long while despite the early PS2 graphics of the characters.Knowname wrote:oh thanks I been meaning to preorder Xenoblade, just forgot the name.
I've replayed 10 all the way thru only twice and 10-2 all the way only once, but only because I'm the type of gamer who likes to have multiple memory cards so I can save before certain events, scenes, and boss battles in games (mainly RPG's) so I can experience them again without having to replay the game all the way thru. 10 is the most emotional FF I've ever played and 10-2 had the best battle system of any FF game to me before 13's (to all the haters, yes, I luved 13's battle system and 13-2's even better). I would advise that you beat 10-2 trying to get only the good ending, the perfect ending is EXTREMELY hard to get and it's just an extension of the good ending. You can watch it on YT when you're done.Jadecavy wrote:Heh, X for me. I'll be playing X-2 after this. Re: What are you playing?
FF13-2... well, I'll be playing it when I get home tonight at least. I'm still sad my schedule in Feb changed and now I no longer get Wed off. I was planning on playing the game all night tonight and all day tomorrow... but alas instead I'll have to only play at night at least till the weekend rolls around
