Anime Milwaukee 2010 AMV contest !Winners Announced!
I got a submission already...so I guess that means it's time to post rules and junk again.
Rules are pretty much the same as last year, with 1 change (I'll put it in bold).
1) AMV means Anime Music Video, so the majority of your video should be Anime.
2) Each person entering the contest can submit up to 3 videos.
*Try to keep your videos under 6 minutes, AMVs which are too long aren't much fun for anyone
*You'll need to fill out one submission form for each video you submit
3) The contest viewing is open to people of all ages, so keep your submissions PG-13, 15+ or whatever other rating scale you prefer.
*AMVs with sexual nudity, tons of gore, or lots of profanity will not be accepted. If you have a question about whether a video is appropriate or not, send an email to amv@animemilwaukee.com
4) No subs. If your AMV has subtitles (from using a fansub) in it, it will be disqualified.
5) If your video looks like a mess of blurry blocks or your audio sounds like someone singing into a tin can it will be disqualified
6) No bumpers, logos, credits (MTV style or otherwise), watermarks, website links or solicitations
7) AMVs should be created within the past 2 years. If the video has won at AMKE in the past, please don't enter it again
Video Format:
Resolution: 720x480 (if you don't, I'll rape your video until it is 720x480)
Container: .avi or .mpeg (others may be accepted)
Codec: Lagarith, Huffyuv, or xvid for .avi
mpeg2 for .mpeg
Framerate: 29.97, progressive only
Audio: 44.1 kHz (stereo preferred)
more details and the contest reg form can be found at the convention website

Re: Anime Milwaukee 2010 AMV contest
If the original footage is 640x480, does that mean we need to stretch it to 720x480 or pillarbox it?
"A film as rich as a sauce béarnaise, as refreshing as a raspberry sorbet, and a lot less predictable than the damn food metaphors and adjectives all us critics will churn out to describe it."

stretch to 720x480 and flag to 4:3 when encoding in mpeg2. Follow this guide: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/mpegforcons/Doomimus wrote:If the original footage is 640x480, does that mean we need to stretch it to 720x480 or pillarbox it?
