I think the high point of my 'career' so far has been when I was mentioned in the AMA contest instructions. That was cool. :)

I'm not too sure if people got this or not, but San-Japan 4TW will be the last time we'll be able to do 'People Choice' for the foreseeable future.

First off, I would like to say that there was some confusions and disappointments in the peoples choice awards voting. There seemed to me a few people who didn't appreciate to vote and really messed with the voting process. However I counted the votes more than twice so I hope everyone at this point would appreciate the Peoples Choice Awards, because this will be the LAST time we will have that voting process. This due to more of scheduling and the time it takes to have people vote, which took over 2 hours...

One, is the time it takes for voting, now that were gonna have Top 12 AMV's that averages about 2+ hours worth of viewing the AMV's and not many people stuck around to complete the voting so that left a lot of the voting cards incomplete.

Two, there were some who just wrote basically anything down on the voting card so it fudged some of the results. I had to go back twice and try and weed out those kinds of cards.

Three, with over 70+ voting cards to count and me being in charge of the Main Events room to boot. It really had me stressed to both keep Main Events on schedule and count all the voting cards and have the amv's sorted for the next morning.

Four, scheduling, Due to the time it takes for the voting process a lot of that time can be used for other events.

In the future however I was told by the Con chair that eventually when more room becomes available that he would love to have an all-day AMV room (ie A-kon). So that is something to look forward too.

70 votes was too much? :uhoh: I'd count that as an utter failure in voting, and I run a contest at a con 1/4 of your size. You get volunteers to count that shit.

He wants to stuff A-Kon into an AMV room? Ambitious. :P

In all fairness, 70 voting cards is not a lot, but each voting card has 34 slots for each amv that is aired so that's actually 2,380 votes I have to punch into excel and then do a formula on which AMV has the highest score. :amv: Also, I much rather count the votes than have someone else do it, If there is a mistake, I much rather take the blame than saying "oh it was a volunteer who did it, not me."
