just curious why your contest plays that way. :?:
That's something that's been going on for several years. The audience doesn't want to watch a bunch of drama and romance videos back to back. This also prevents people from just showing up at the beginning or end to see action/comedy and then emptying the room (this was a notorious issue at many AMV contests back in the day..late 90s early 00s). As an FYI from 2007-2010 the list wasn't even randomized. I know those years I manually built the play order (note: I am not currently on ACen AMV staff).
interesting. i find it so bizarre how different cons have different reactions to amvs. kinda like each convention has it's own personality.

You can have the luxury of doing stuff like that when most of the contest is pre-judged before hand. Trying to do it with audience voting would really screw things up.

Unrelated - should I be watching my mailbox any time soon? (I'm at a condo complex and I sometimes forget to check my mail for a week at a time)

Trophies were handed out to those that were there. I dunno if they sent them out yet though to those who weren't there.

I haven't gotten mine either, so It's probably not that. Nate suggested (on twitter) there would be payment involved for sending them, but to PM SailorDeath about it. I did that 10 days ago and haven't even got a response back yet, so who knows.

Actually both me and SD will be at AWA this year. Though I don't know if he'll have room to transport the awards or not. Sounds like a good plan TBH. But he's the one with all the awards so unfortunately you'll have to get with him on making arrangements.

Hey guys, sorry for being lazy, I've been really busy with work lately and haven't had the time to do anything about getting the winning trophies to everyone, but rest assured I'll be contacting people when I get a chance.
Gimme a minute, I'll make a cool one....
