That doesn't sound like a good thing...

Good to hear... I seem to make unplanned videos whenever I submit to cons these days XD
Warheart wrote:OZ, linked me to this and well it's entertaining but not much more. I'd say the blured borders and the majority or the effects weren't my taste such as the floating screens around 1:25 or the masks you used. They somehow lack integration at some point although the ideas themselfs weren't bad at all. The editing was at least at some points good, but the sceneselection could have been better to sync some significant parts and beats of the song. However the sources themself were fused very convincingly conceptwise thus it's an enjoyable and atmospheric video. And since I have the DVDs now I might just watch it since this video is kinda an appetizer. ;)

6.2/10 (stealing Jannis' validation system as of now)
Hehe, good thing you are getting into 2nd Gig. The show I believe is the better of the two series out there. Anyway, I'm a bit of a fan of the "obvious" effect that sticks out from the video but I do concede that that style is not always effective with every kind of video. This is probably where that's failed, but I wouldn't have it any other way because from the start, I never meant to be "subtle" :P

Thanks for watching!

[14:53] <JCD> a gig 2 video with hybrid

I love both. Nice video, it'd propably be better if you had the entire series as footage and not just the first DVD. It was quite noticeable that you had to compromise scene usage, and most of the action felt kinda slow. Also, some of the effects look cheesy and don't fit with the footage, mostly the first ones you used, it gets better lateron. And not that it matters much, it felt a bit akward that the song is about blackouts and you didn't have a single one in the video.

And  for hybrid outro and intro. Use moar :O
Actually, I had one light fail near the start before the floating screens kicked in XD
Yeah, this video was more like, "hey, let's see what DVD we got on hand and use that". Anyway, thanks for watching! Hybrid wins!

Overall, a very well done dance/action vid! And the song itself is quite addictive. :) Nice work!

Love the quality and the editing during the first 2.5ish min. The second half seemed a little dragged imo but working with limited footage it was still very nice.

4/5 I would say =D

I thought it was alright...the first minute, minute and a half of the video was better than the rest...I thought it kinda lost focus after that and it just got boring to me. I liked the effects though, I wish there were more - I think this would have excelled if you had put the focus there instead.

oookk finally watched it and now I'm goinna disagree with 'Sky.

The editing in the first minute didn't flow well compared to the second half, although scene selection was better in the first half and lost to somewhat randomness in the second. The effects... I gotta say this is some of what ruined it for me in the first half the blue and white borders espicially they were a little static as in , they moved around with some nice smooth motion but they were just flat and didn't add anything to the vid. But the second half kicked  ass.
This is also the cleanest I've seen PAL for GITS, which begs the question did you use the PAL release? 'cause it looks shit hot.

Hehehe, you're one of the few to like the effects. Thanks for watching.

Yes, I used the PAL releases... I've been tempted to release the larger PAL resolution version of this video even. Somehow or other, the filtering ended up decent in the end. Some of the more finer details of the source got raped, but it's better than the somewhat unsatisfyingly original condition of the DVD releases. Thanks for the comments... uh... Canberra sucks?
