I have been meaning to remake this AMV from the day after I released it but I knew when that day came I would have to have nothing but DVD footage. Well 2 years later I practially got all the DVDs I need, since this year I remade "Bat Out Of Hell" and soon after did "Bat Out Of Hell 3" I felt it was only fair that I would revisit Bat Out Of Hell 2. I think it deserves as much of the limelight as the other two. I look at the BOOH series as sort of my triplet babies. All the same yet very different. I can describe the differences but I dont think you want to read it. This remake took a full month to make. 2 week to get the footage, 3 weeks of editing while going back to the DVDs for more footage I missed. Originally I hoped to present this AMV in its 12 minute glory but I decided that I may know how to do lip sync but I still suck at it. I cut this AMV down that its 5 seconds shorter than Part 1. I felt that the duet part wasn't neccicary not to mention looking at it with MY lip sync just made me want to cringe. Not to mention I hate doing lip sync where there is moving things int he background because it looks like it was cut around to lip sync. If I do lip sync I would like it to flow like they are doing it normally (example if you watch 2 Minutes To Epyon). There is only one lip sync part in this AMV that was mean to be it and it wasn't good either. I worried more about the one thing I failed to do the first time. Stay true to Ryoga, doing BOOH2 the first time was more couciling to me conducting my emotions at the time through the AMV, this time I just wanted to make an AMV is as true to Ryoga as possible without pissing off anyone (namely the Ranma 1/2 freaks who think Ranma and Akane are a couple not Akane and Ryoga, even though I would like that better since I watch Ranma 1/2 for Ryoga, I HATE RANMA). Its hard to decribe what I wanted to do with this AMV, maybe make it as if Ryoga used parts of his past to tell the story of how he loves Akane and would do anything to get here, except tell her his dark secret (he is also P-Chan, the pet she sleeps with all the time). Other than that the AMV is practically self explanitory plot wise. Anyone who knows Ryoga should understand (I hope). As for the song cuts they were needed because there were only two parts in this AMV that I would consider drag on parts but they were TO ME vital to the AMV to either add prelude that causes tension at the beginning and a drag on play to add tension for climax of the AMV, any other drag on places I felt would kill my effect with the AMV. In the end I am very proud of what I have done with this AMV. Even though I have a feeling it wont be accepted very well here or get any good reviews. However I dont care to me I am proud of this peice of work and to me it deserves its place here as much as his brothers, I worked very hard on this AMV. I hope at least someone would enjoy this AMV, I think only the pro-Ryoga fans would like it but I dont know.
(2002 entry)
This AMV has a long history behind it, I was listening to Meat Loaf at the time and I heard the song and it reminde dme of Ryoga and Akane. In this AMV I put through my feelings through two similar characters (Ryoga and Akane). For 9 months I went through song after song, from AC/DC to ZZ Top. I even le tmy friends vote what I should use, I even asked on this forum which one. All led me to this song. I decided that this be the sequel to Bat Out Of Hell because of its similarity. BOOH 1 was about Kentaro going into a town trying falling in love and blantantly leaving when they finally lov ehim back. WHile part two is about Ryoga traveling to ge tthrough his feelings with Akane, maybe work out his anger an dfustration, to get the courage to ask her out while part one traveling wa sjust part of the routine Kentaro done. I worked on this AMV for a long time, honestly this AMV brung much into me, I experimented with many transitions and things I never thought possible from my point. If people think I never tried with this AMV then they just wanted to say it fromt he beginign to bring me down. Because in total if you count the recording, the plaining, the imagining, the editing, the producing (and that took awhile to try and get the best picture for size value. In total I worke dont his AMV for 10 motnhs, in between working on the other AMVs. After many hours this is what I got, pretty as best of a production as I can squeeze out with my shit ass computer. I wanted this AMV to be put up beside the other two Ryoga AMVs (500 Miles, Still Haven't Found What I am Looking For) that are considered legends of Ryoga AMVs. Bottom line I tried my best, and this is it.
