I've been making fun of X for a while, but it truly is a series that hit me deep down emotionally. I've wanted to make drama for a while, but due to my past projects I keep getting pushed to do comedy. This video is my major breakaway from that.
I heard this song on the season finale of Buffy and what first hit me is how emotionally charged it is. Perfect for what I wanted to do which is accentuate the emotional charge X/1999 already brings. The song itself is a prayer, and since Karen's the one who's most in touch with her faith I figured it should be her prayer. It makes sense in the video since I do have a couple of distinct prayer scenes.
I guess I also wanted to accentuate Karen's own hopes and dreams for the future which she reflects upon before the apocalyptic battle between the dragons of heaven and earth begins.
This video took me about 3 days of constant work to finish and is currently being sent to a few AMV contests.
Be aware that it's a very emotionally charged video and I've been told it's made more than a few people cry.
