Stroke of Luck or gift from God?
Hand of Fate or Devil's claws?
From below or saints above?
You came to me.
-Garbage: Stroke of Luck
Was it Fate or coincidence that brought Kenshin and Tomoe together? Was thier relationship a stroke of good luck or bad? This video takes a look at Kenshin and Tomoe's life together and the aftermath of it all.
This video is my attempt to express Kenshin and Tomoe's relationship. I wanted to show that there was much more to the OAVs than blood and violence.

This video is FINISHED! Right now it has been sent off to the Anime Expo 2002 AMV contest. More to come about this when I find out if I made it in or not.
This is my first video, hopefully it will be good enough to stand up to the many other wonderful Kenshin OAV AMVs. I'm not sure what inspired it or where the concept came from but it was very insistant on being made. I have been wokring on it on and off for about a year, it had to be put on hold for a while due to lack of editing equipment, none of my computers were fast enough. However, once I built a good enough computer and got out of school the true editing began and I posted the idea here.
I'm not really sure what to categorize this video as, if you have any suggestions email them to kahmelon@gundamwing.net I could really use the help (and feedback, feedback is always nice).
Programs used:
Ripping footage: SmartRipper
Encoding ripped files into avi format: eXtream
Editing clips: Ulead VideoStudio 5.0 (an evil program that likes to crash on me forcing me to start over. In other words, the main reason why this video took so long.)
Time spent: This is a hard question to answer since the work was so spread out. As stated above this video has been a project of mine for about a year. I worked on it in two main bursts. The first was the ripping and conversion of files from DVD to my hard drive in avi format. This probably took at least 20 hours but it was mostly just waiting for the computer to do its thing. I tried right after the file convesion to start editing using a trial version of Adobe Premire but my machine was simply too slow to handle it so the files ended up just sitting on my hard drive doing nothing for many months. Finally my father and I built a computer that could handle video editing and I could get to work. I had to wait for school to end however because this has been a very stressful year but once summer came I cracked down on the project and managed to get it done. Total time spent editing is unknown since I had a tendencey to lose track of time and spend the entire afternoon/evening working but it was easily over 20 hours.
Before I finish the comments/rants I want to thank some people:
My father: for helping me make the computer and putting up with me hogging it for such long periods of time.
My mother: For helping me mail the video to the Anime Expo 2002 AMV contest and for complimenting my choice in music.
My sister: for getting me interested in the music of Garbage and giving me future video ideas.
My friend Justin: for calling and keeping me company during the editing (and more improtantly) rendering process, and for putting up with the random comments I made throughout the entire porject such as "bouncy stick figure Kenshin" and "I NEED NINJAS DAMNIT!"
And last but definetly not least:
Shu no Ko: for proving to me that everything is indeed possible.
More info to come!
