• Comments: OK, a confession as to working methods: I can't do a damned thing until I have both the song and the anime decided.
  
  I wanted to do a Madlax video for a while, but really couldn't think of what I wanted to do with it until I had a song. Then when I heard this on someone's mix CD, I knew I had it. It's in desparate need of remastering, because Madlax is only up to the second DVD in US release, and we all know what that means for an AMV, but I couldn't resist.
  
  If someone who just messes around with these things can be said to have a "style," I suppose that "This Is Who We are" typifies it. The amount of mix of effects vs. scenes, the number of cuts per minute, and the leaning towards lyrical rather than beat sync that I think are "typical" for me are all there.
  
  Also, of course, the fact that I'm basically remixing the anime story-line into something that wasn't really there.
  
  The pretentiousness of trying to draw a correlation between sweet scenes when the music is on "fantasy" and violence when the music is on "real."
  
  Even the "inside joke" title: Legitimate in the sense that I think the tangling of love and violence is who these people are. A wink in the sense that "This is who we are," was the tagline for a ambiguously nasty secret organization in nthe US TV series Millennium.
