• Comments: This clip is a quote from a really bad science fiction movie from 1961, titled "The Phantom Planet". It is one of the many bad scifi movies that was on the show Mystery Science Theater 3000. This particular quote was obtained via download from a MST3K website. It is one of those rare quotes that didn't need any commentary from Mike or the bots... it spoke for itself. Especially since the speaker of the quote, Makonnen, dies in the [i]very next scene[/i]. For cryin' out loud. This quote really had nothing to do with the rest of the movie, and Makonnen's life- and death- did not affect the plot in any way.
  
  "Lt. Ray Makonnen: You know, Captain, every year of my life, I grow more and more convinced that the wisest and best is to fix our attention on the good and the beautiful… if you just take the time to look at it.
  Capt. Frank Chapman: You're some guy, Makonnen."
  
  I don't know why, but my friends and I always cracked up when we heard this quote. MST3K was canceled years ago, so when I found this clip lying around my computer, I decided to use it for nostalgia value.
  
  I made this to be the "ending credits" for my Bad Girls AMV, but since I really like this video and I'm not distributing Bad Girls, I deleted the credits and did a little bit of post-editing to make this a video to itself. It's silly, but I'm fond of it. Unlike Bad Girls, it was made entirely with my own source footage. The only Lupin DVD I have with me is Castle of Cagliostro, so I used that. I kind of wish I had my other DVDs, because Goemon is shown precious few times in Cagliostro... and he talks even less. @_@' Still, considering what I had to work with, I think this video came out really well.   I think I like making these "sound clip" AMVs more than I like making AMVs to actual songs. ^^'' Is this becoming a trend?
