  • Comments: Update!--This video will be shown at the German convention, BishounenCon. This is odd because I do not even speak German, much less live there, but apparently one of the staff members likes the video and wanted to show it. Making this the first video of mine shown at a convention, despite being one of the first videos I ever made and more than a year after its creation. I am very flattered and rather bemused by the whole thing.

This is my first good video. I say first 'good' video because my first amv (a Haruka/Michiru thing that we won't speak of) could in no way be considered anything more than a learning experience. Unless you're Xenia, but she's crazy. It's mainly good because I had the whole video worked out in my head months before I even started. That helps. Even now, over a year and a dozen videos later, I still don't see any glaring problems.

The concept for this is, what keeps the main guys (Squall, Seifer, Laguna) hanging on throughout all the troubles in this game? The answer's easy: their friends. (And this is where we all go 'Awwwwww...') Really, I'd expected to use a lot more of Squall's friends in this one, particularly Zell and Selphie, but this wound up being mostly a Squall/Rinoa video. It wasn't intentional! Well, the Seifer and Laguna segments worked out like I'd wanted, and the Rinoa scenes look good, so I'm happy with it.

Favorite scenes include the words "I promise" when the lyrics say "I had your promise," the transition from Squall-in-wasteland to the dance sequence, and the scenes of Seifer and the gang from the ending. I didn't try to pull anything real clever in this video. It's just sweet. My one regret is that it was made entirely on Windows Movie Maker--the high quality version of it does look good, but not as good as it could be if it was in .mpeg or .avi format.
