  • Comments: This video was inspired by my best friend, who noticed that "You Can Call Me Al" by Paul Simon had come up on my playlist. "Hey," he suggested, "wouldn't that make a great Albedo video?"

    I had to agree.

    I decided I wanted to make a light-hearted, somewhat campy, somewhat sentimental music video about that crazy mofo Albedo from the Xenosaga series. It contains scenes from Xenosaga I and II, but the Xeno I footage I ripped from the bonus DVD and it's regrettably not very good quality (it's just not a great DVD). The Xeno II footage came from a bittorrent by jarjar and VERY big thanks to her(?) for the rips, as they are excellent quality.

    The movie took about a week to make, being a bigger project than I'm used to because I took great pains to make the lyrics and images match up in significant ways. I also messed with some effects and titles to add a sort of campy '80's music video' feel to it. I used iMovie on my iBook to compile it, and many of the effects are from the Slick FX packages.

    The song is very long, so I sacrificed some visual quality to make it a reasonable size for distribution on the internet. If you like it and want a better quality version, just contact me and I'm sure we can work something out.

    One last thing - HUGE spoilers inside. HUGE. Don't watch if you care about spoilers and a) haven't finished both Xenosaga I and II, or b) don't understand the meaning of the very last scene of Xenosaga II and want to figure it out for yourself.
