  • Comments: I am very proud of this project. I think, out of all the videos i have made, this one took the longest and i put the most heart into it. The song, Desert Rose by Sting was a song i first heard in William Mullberry's Dreams of Red. I was in awe, that video, was amazing. One of the best ones on this site, in my opinion. Well, after watching his video, i got inspired to make a video to that song. The challenge, was coming up with a anime to use. While i was thinking, i watched BlueFox's Thousand Summers and it clicked. Samurai X seemed the best possible show to use.

So, within days, i started working on this project. Within a couple of minutes, i reached a road block...i didnt have a fire scene. The song says, "I dream of fire...." and later on "and in the flames, her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire." I asked someone for a fire scene, and he said he'd get back to me. well, i never got it, so i decided to improve upon the situation, and use a picture of fire, and fade into pics of kenshin and tomoe. Well, it didnt work too well, but i still like it

So then, the rest of the video went smoothly. At 2:40-ish in the video, it cuts to grayscale. i did this because the chanting was kind of like a dream state for me. so, i made it appear he was dreaming in a way. It goes from his mothers death, to his training, to a final battle. I like this scene alot. Its one of my favorites. Then, he snaps out of the dream like state and hes with tomoe.

as the video continues, it focuses mainly on Kenshin and the fight "finally being over" as in its all over, hes accomplished what he wanted, and the 'x' is gone.

at the end, i flash to a scene that i made for the moment. i didnt really "make" it, i positioned the scenes so they overlapped so it looked like kenshin and tomoe hugging in flames, like a dream within the red of the flames. I really liked this last part because it was tough to time it so you could see tomoe and kenshin, but also see the flames.

well, please watch and please leave a review, i want to know how this one did.

    Thanks,
    Miranda, Dragon's Fire Productions
