So it got put on hold until I'd gotten through the show again.

At any rate, I think it worked out for my benefit to not try to rush through it. Honestly, I am very thoroughly pleased with this video.

For the technical aspects, I used Adobe Premier, which most of the time I was working on it was the first one to get to the whip. I purposely started the clips flowing at a slower rate with the song, doing more story telling than musical visualizing. The clips run with the slower tempo of the beginning of the song, then slowly start to speed up, ending with me abusing the crap out of the zoom effect at the end. Okay, abusing isn't quite the right word. Making good use of it is a better way to put it.

Clips were yanked from the fansubs. The crop tool was used to shove the subs off-screen, so none of that annoyance. Codec used is Divx 5.2.1.

I have been very, VERY idly poking at this song for ages now, trying to see what I might make a video from to it, but nothing's come to mind. But after I saw this show, it clicked. The brothers have this utterly bittersweet, powerful relationship that is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Whether you view it as incestuous, or as straight platonic (which is how I view it- I've a very firm belief that one can love someone with every bit of your heart and soul and have it be utterly platonic), it doesn't matter, what matters is that the level of passion there is unmistakeable.

And because of that passion, Ed, with all his coldness, his aloofness to the rest of the world, the way he's impossible to reach, impossible to break, impossible to keep down... he has a weakness. Nothing in this life can stop him except his brother. In fact, in a couple instances, Ed, even as young as 12, nearly kills someone without thinking twice, once simply because he lost his temper with someone he probably thought "just needed killin'", and if it were not for Al, he would've ran headlong into that darkness and never looked back.

Ironically, it's because of his brother too that Ed starts walking a darker path later on- he's willing to do whatever it takes to save his brother and give him another chance at life. The equivalent exchange of a brother's killer. Al is the reason he keeps getting up, just as Al is the only thing that can bring him back down.

    His might.
    His kryptonite.
