  [Synopsis]
  Really worked hard on the syncing in this video. We tried to show Naota's feelings towards Haruko. Ninamori, and Mamimi. This video is a funny yet contemplative and emotional look at how his relationship with these 3 girls grows and changes. I don't know what genre this video really is. It's a little bit of drama/romance, a little bit of fun/comedy, and a little bit of action.

  This video began with the syncing of Haruko's bass to Flea's bass line in the song Soul to Squeeze. Everything else was hatched after I called in the big guns, ala Jeremy, TheSmokingMan. We make a killer team. I'm the idea guy, and Jeremy's the one that puts the ideas into action and follows through with them. Without me this video wouldn't have been started. Without Jeremy, it wouldn't have been finished. Thas a fact. That kid did the majority of the syncs which took about a million hours, and anything in the video that looks really pretty... that was him too. I chose the clips and did some chopping.
  
  The basic intent of the video was just to help me learn the program and maybe show some nice emotional images in the process. This is my first involvement in any kind of video editing. Just doing it for the experience... and to keep Jeremy from boredom... So along with much technical premiere jazz, I learned a new respect for the hard work put into projects such as these. We'll see if there's time for more in the future... but who knows. Winter break ends way too soon. *siiiigh*

  This video was made in collaboration with my longtime friend Patrick aka Tock. He showed me some clips he made syncing FLCL to a Chili Peppers song and I knew we had to make a video. I dont think either of us knew what we were getting ourselves into. The song was a perfect choice. It really seems to fit Naota and his struggle with his feelings for Haruko. Ninamori, and Mamimi. We wanted to keep a balance between the light and funny as well as contemplative and emotional with a touch of action. The action scene in the middle is short and sweet but looks fantastic in my opinion. I don't know what genre this video really is. It's a little bit of drama, a little bit of fun/comedy, and a little bit of action.
  
  [Process]
  The video was edited in Premiere/Photoshop/Virtualdubmod. I wanted to try out lip syncing. We didn't just do lip syncing, we ended up syncing bass guitars, robots, eyebrows, cats, perverts, and everything else in the video. The digital effects were often subtle, but I think they were very affective. I dont think gratuitous effects improve the video, I think they only take away so I try and keep them to a minimum. This video sucked up enormous ammounts of time. Lip syncing, when done correctly, has to be done frame by frame and takes forever. With the ammount of syncing we did in this video, we've easily put in 60 hours of work (probably more).
  
  [Codec/Quality]
  The video was ripped from the dvd and audio was ripped directly from the cd. I used lossless formats for editing until I converted it into XviD. I used XviD 1.0.3 http://www.xvid.org/ to compress the video and it came out beautifully. I apologize for the large file size, but I wanted to maximize the quality of this video. You can view it full screen at near dvd quality with no problem whatsoever. (very few compression artifacts)
