  Ah, I was having my daily bout with insomnia one night when I switched on the radio to listen for a bit of lulling music. It was December, and a Christmas song came on. This was a very familiar song to me, and had the lyrics "so have a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year...". That's all I knew though, but I suddenly was inspired by the muse of epic anime music videos (I'll be a little pretentious for a bit :P) to create an Holiday-themed AMV (something I had NEVER EVER seen before). The next morning I thought of the Love Hina Christmas Special (naturally) and found out the song was Happy Xmas by John Lennon. Finding out the song was by Lennon was the thing that got me started, even though he's before my time I have tonnes of respect for the late great.
  
  So I set out to create a "feel-good AMV of the holiday season". I wanted to capture what Christmas used to mean to me, when I was just a child. I was more innocent back then, and saw the holidays as not just another commercial opportunity, but a time of joy, warmth, happiness, and love. I felt the Love Hina X-Mas Special captured all that, and therefore I put together a video that told the beautifully touching main story of the movie. Having only the sub, I had a helluva time getting rid of text, but I felt in the end I did pretty good. The irony is the day I finished the AMV, I read the news on AMV.org's first page, and saw "removing subtitle guide". Bleh :P
  
  Stuff of interest:
  - tried to get beautiful Christmas imagery when the song says Merry Christmas
  - the snow when the bell-tamborine thing starts up
  - "for weak and for strong" shows Keitaro then Naru on the subway
  - "the world is so wrong" shows Keitaro dropping the present
  - the fade from Naru outside the hotel to Naru in the subway
  - I really wanted to put in the plot point where Naru leaves the jacket on the subway, but time constraints proved otherwise
