  • Comments: With my name being TekkaRepliroid Zero, a Rockman X vid coming from me is only a matter of time (since I've already done Tekkaman Blade vids =P). Like my other works, this idea had been sitting around on paper for several months. Originally this was going to be done at the time Destiny Boy was made, but we didn't have a copy of X3 at the time. This idea goes back to the motive of Miyu the Shinma Slayer; the concept itself is just fun to ride on (which is the best motive , ne? ^_^).

I love the concept because Irregulars (which is the Jap term for Mavericks for those unaware of the changes) essentially are beast machines, so maching it up with this little edit to Leftfield's Phat Planet was irresistable. Also, the world of Rockman X is like an Electronic Jungle (so use music to match). The edit is pretty obvious, but I've been told it sounds smooth (despite a volume fluctuation). I call this version the "Irregular Edit".

Oh, and although I have the anime listed under MEGA Man X, this is actually incorrect, but since these are existing entries, I'm using them anyways. These are made with the imports, and the text/logo Rockman X appears at least 3 times on the screen. This is NOT a Mega Man X vid, it is a ROCKMan X vid... OK, enough of the puritanian rant. =P

This vid has taken the longest time to assemble, because the style of Phat Planet is a challenging one to keep up with. Usually I don't like Drum & Bass/Jungle, but Leftfield is unique. The vid has been a major learning experience for me, since in the past I've been spoiled as far as equipment capability goes (uncompressed all the time), but not this time. Somewhere around 40 hours (more? lost count) of assembly (including capture and export) have gone into this, working from an existing planned (and somewhat tested) script - which of course still had last minute changes made for various reasons (ALWAYS happens). I went for some degree of continuity in the vid, you'll notice X doesn't transform to an armor upgrade until the end of the vid, and also, I'm trying to keep Sigma in the shadows most of the time too (one part he's out in the open, but I felt it needed for continuity/coherency of the vid). And finally, no lip flap ^_^. Fans of the series should get the greatest effect too, a trait all my videos seem to share.

This is also my first vid using premiere, and I've learned the frustrations of intrusive frames on this one (X5's OP is SO MESSY, DIE!). Extreme thanx to my good friend 'The Doc', whose equipment was used to make it, as well as other technical help he provided ^_^. Also thanx to Knight-chan for the Jap. ver. of X4 - it was a HUGE help for continuity.
The quality is about as good as it can get. This is the quality the PSX discs carry it as, 320 x 224, and thus those are the masters. Some mistakes were made with codec use, but I haven't noticed any suffering really (it may be there, the eye won't see it), but viewing at full screen will have pixelation (as it's designed for a TV's screen size). Everything was ripped directly from the STR files of the PSX discs of Rockman X3-5 (also used a little bit from the japanese commercial for X6 ^^). One thing that I found really ironic is that the X3 cut scenes run about 3 times smoother (at least!!) on a computer than on a Playstation (PSX can't handle its own cut scenes *rolleyes*). Would somebody please tell Capcom Japan to pair up with some anime production company to get a Rockman X anime made already >.
