• Comments: I didn't much like Tenchi Forever. I was hosting a bit of an new-anime marathon when I watched it, and this popped up in the middle. We mocked it mercilessly, and the television was one of the funnier bits. We cheered when it finally worked.
  
  That sets the scene for how I came up with the idea for this video. When I heard this song (My TV and You) for the first time, I immediately thought of the third Tenchi movie and especially, "no TV make Tenchi something something..."
  
  I knew that I couldn't just make a gag video. The song is too serious towards the end, and there isn't enough footage of Tenchi fooling with the TV. The video takes a bit of a detour in the later half because of this, and turns out like some sort of Twilight Zone episode.
  
  The most difficult part of this video by far was the two choruses towards the end. I put in all kinds of footage there with little success. Eventually, with some good advice, I realized I was just trying to do too much and simplified things to the current version. I had another suggestion to cut the song, but I think the video would have been less complete that way. I like the ending, even if I'm still not completely satisfied with the leadup to it.
  
  This video is also a bit of a technical achievement for me. For one, it's my first (aside from a practice piece) try at lip synching. I never even intended to do it when I began the video; I just had a gaping hole and when I dropped a piece of Tenchi ranting it just happened to match perfectly.
  
  The other technical achievement you can see on the TV screens in the video. Washu, Tenchi, even Mihoshi and Kiyone were all carefully clipped, scaled, and de-colourized for the small screen. Washu was by far the most difficult since she's at an angle and the girlfriend walks in front of her for a few frames.
