Of all the videos I've done, this one I like the least. The end result is nothing like what I had in mind. In fact, I'm not even sure what I was smoking when I put this one together. Still, it's one more that I've done, so I feel honor bound to include it on this tape.
In fact, I think this video is actually more painful to watch than that Robotech video I made when I first got my capture card.
The basic idea was that I wanted to use two things that I hadn't seen anyone else do. A Heart song and the Phantom Quest Corp anime. PQC was what actually reintroduced me to anime, after having drifted away. Having nothing better to do, I sat down and watched it at Balticon 96. (Man, that convention can be blamed for a lot of things, can't it?) From that one viewing, it spurred me on to find all of the videos and even create a webpage for the series.
In any case, the video tanked. There were, and still are, way too many talky spots. Too many pauses that break up the kinetic speed of the action. There is a whole bunch of other mistakes that I have since learned to look for.
Both songs seemed to fit the vampire motif very well, so that's why I went with it. They also had a hard edge that I wanted to use, to try and change the comedic anime into a more serious video. If I could get people to actually go and see the anime, then I was going to be happy.
