  • Comments: Although I enjoy the overall romantic story arc of the Ah! My Goddess series, the movie has always struck me because it introduced a character who really gets a raw deal where love is concerned, and this is somewhat unusual in the A!MG universe. Morgan Le Fay is fascinating to me because her motivations are so complex in comparison to the other characters. (Celestine's motivations are really just jealousy and possessiveness.) And so my goal here is to give her a little of the focus she deserves.

The song certainly inspired the video, as the lyrics are absolutely perfect for Morgan:

    Sinéad Lohan, "Whatever It Takes"
whatever it takes you to believe it
    that's all right with me
take this morning in my kitchen
or whatever that helps you to believe
you will find me down by the river
    getting high on my mortality
i'll be holding hands with nameless beauty
or whoever wants to stand next to me

    all eyes on me
    i'm going to the moon
time heals what you can't see
heads back i'm leaving soon leaving soon

you can take it easy 'cause i've got a mind to
    put your parachute on slow
    we're moving into calmer waters
where all your loveliness will show
for all of your wanting me to react to
"look no hands on this carousel"
for me to be true to whatever you cling to
whenever your heart is going to tell

    all eyes on me
    i'm going to the moon
time heals what you can't see
heads back i'm leaving soon leaving soon

    [interlude]

whatever it takes you to believe it
    that's all right with me
take this morning say it walks on water
whatever that helps you to believe
you will find me down by the river
    getting high on my mortality
i'll be holding hands with my nameless beauty
or whoever wants to stand next to me

    all eyes on me
    i'm going to the moon
time heals what you can't see
heads back i'm leaving soon leaving soon
