What a strange concept.
I was looking at Kickstarter games, and a specific trailer stood out as very... different. Something that I've almost never seen before. It was a trailer and a narration in a deep, dark, foreboding voice about a game where you essentially play as the villain. "Crawl."
And so the work began.
Madoka Magica is perhaps an overused anime, but Kyubey seemed to match the character profile of the narrator the best amongst our brainstorms. We cut out the audio which were difficult to demonstrate with Madoka scenes and worked on recreating the "feel."
This was our submission to the Otakon 2014 competition. We faced a number of strong trailer videos and unfortunately failed to make Finalists this year. Nonetheless, I think this video offers a unique feel. I admit that it is alien and strange, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless.
